Not the way I wanted the day to end especially being the last Rotary Spirit event organized by Ando-San but still a great day and feel privileged to have even been there!

So happy with how the car is feeling right now, being able to shift it reliably now has really helped bring it to life. As for the longevity of the shifter only time will tell. Thanks to @driftgold & @LonnoFPV for the outside shots!

I was looking at this shifter for months and finally decided to give it a go. Its not cheap but if it can do its job reliably its going to improve one of the last weak links with this car.

Was having such a good time until we had some issues around half way through the day with the diff and unfortunately had to call off competing the following day. In good news the Just Engineering steering setup has ticked all the boxes i have been asking for so i am really happy with that.

Trying to get a CD009 or a t56 in my FC. Can't wait!
I saw one vid, stating the S1 is very bad, not worth the $$$$
I saw alot of bad feedback and yet here i am 4 events in with no issues at all. If its worth it depends on what you are doing with the car, if its just a street car you cruise around there is no place for this shifter. If you are competing or racing in the car there is no better shifter for the CD009. I had serial 9 before this that everyone thinks is the best option but i hated it, worst shifter i have ever had. How long this will last, i dont know but there is only one way to find out. My last transmission the synchro's went bad after about 1 year with the serial 9 so if i can get faster and significantly more reliable shifting with the same lifespan that is a win.
About as dope as it gets!
Takumiii stooooooppppp aaaaaaaaaa
This is sick
Dude 14:33 👌🏼🔥that car is an animal and you sure know how to drive it mate, love how committed and CALM you are under the pressure. Oh and BIG PROPS to your misso filming, it’s great to see couples CRUSHING IT🤘🏻😉
Sick vid and nice work out there! Have you considered a cool suit system? I run one in my TA turbo miata and it's a lifesaver in the pits.
Fuel issues will pop a motor quick, good safeties
Awesome video dude, keep it up!
I'm a simple man. I see a rotary RX-7 drifting, I subscribe. Great driving too!
The struggle will always pay off in the end. You're doing something people only dream of, keep up the good fight ✊🏼 you've inspired me to look seriously at trying divisional next year
Appreciate that! Definitely have a go!
Hey man, what LPH is the lift pump? I think I heard you say it is high capacity? I wonder if the high flow rate of the lift pump is causing the fuel to cavitate which might be causing the engine pump to starve? Enjoyed the video as always
Yo! it is a walbro 525lph so yea it does move alot of fuel but i am 99% sure i have found the problem and it was a part of the hanger. Details in next vid!
@@AndrewDate fingers crossed dude!
what a location to have a course wow!
You are really getting there with the setup and driving. Right on the verge now of being really competitive now!
Tracks in Japan are so cool. In the US its like "heres a big flat area with a ribbon of pavement". In my country its like "did you know this abandoned condo complex used to be a race track!?"
usa drift courses are SO dull in comparison to eurpoe and japan
Agreed, they absolutely nail it somehow.
I had a Mazda filter fail on mine. Would be fine until you hit boost, thus higher fuel pressure, and the membrane in the filter would dislodge and block the pipe. Fine on idle and cruise, only when you booted it
love the vid! rip into them fuck it , get answers
hahahah yes!
like the long videos!
noted!
hope you can get answers from radium soon. cuts at 50L is unacceptable. congrats on placing 5th in first qualifying, podiums are in sight.
awesome video dude😊
Yay!! New Andrew video on a Friday!!
Bruh .... people get so excited when they see a 3rd gear reverse entry but this mf the kiiiiiiiiinng never seen a 360 in ebisu north, mind blow 🤯
Love ya style ANDREW, you know that 7 better than anyone💯so many cool tracks in Japan and this is by far a FUN LIL GEM 9:25 that entry and flicks, but also 12:45 bigger main entry and still HITTING THOSE ZONES💪🏻I love how you ALWAYS trying to improve the car, and your videos are chilled👌🏼it’s REALLY COMING ALONG mate 🙏🏻😇would love to drive with you…. SOMEDAY, you SO CONSISTENT🔥rip west
ah too kind man really appreciate that. Yeah let's make it happen!
Great driving as usual! So sad West course is gone, don't know how many 1000s of laps I did there in rFactor back in like 2012 . Would have been great to visit. But the same goes for Sekia Hills I suppose
Man YZ West went wild on rfactor! Glad to see someone else from then haha!
So beautiful there. Man i need to come cruise for a visit…
@BuckeyLaing let's goo!
@@AndrewDate we’ll have to plan something out for sure!! Be sick to come when it’s a good time for events to help crew for ya 🤙
Bro just wondering , can you shift faster ? Or is it the mechanism of the shifter limits the speed of the shifting ? Because i saw a real sequential transmission shift a bit faster.
It can shift faster than I am using it but at that point the shifting is abit unreliable and probably very hard on the synchros in the gearbox. If your purpose is fast as possible shifts definitely go for a dog engagement gearbox but for me/my application I'm happy with the speeds of these shifts and the reliability has been great, significantly better than all CD shifters.
@@AndrewDate WOW , Very Good information.Thank You 😃.
😎
You have a driving so smooth i like watching you drive really
looking really comfortable, just you and the tires. the car has come along way in the last 1.5 years. have you thought about modifying the tank to have pumps on both sides?
At the moment just talking with radium trying to get my current setup working as everyone else seems to be able to run their car down to 1/8 of a tank except for me 😅
What an awesome little track this must be to drive, glad it's still running
Rip West course
Looking very consistent and exciting. Nice stuff!
Hey mate, saw you from Noriyaro's vid and I'm now spamming most of yours. Mostly because I just got an FD and I'm watching anything RX7 related to learn as much as I can. Your vids are a breath of fresh air compared to flood of noisy hype videos. Keep it up!
And the car is a relatively mellow build that is totally relatable to the average enthusiast. It's not like "HEY GUYS! I just bought this 100% mint FD. Lets gut it and seam weld it, then rain 100k worth of parts from my sponsors on it with some $8000 JDM wheels. I'm going for a mild build, just an NA four rotor..."
really appreciate that thank you! congrats on the FD!!
Car looks like it handles really well. Good set-up 🤙🤙🤙
Thank you! It's taken a long time but we got there in the end haha
Seems like alot of racetracks in Japan end up as solar farms. Samit did a video on sendai which has turned into a solar farm too 😢
#VOLUMEUP watched it like a thousand times🙃 OMG, all those S5’s🫠 All LOVE from Australia 🇦🇺 Those hands, such smooth lines………camera angle are set up noice moite, the gauges are primo🥃, View is ON POINTa d those tandems…… #GANGSTER rx7 is a TOUGH NUT TO CRACK👌🏼Love ya work Andrew, FULL SENDS toward the 🧱 WALL🎶your car is becoming even MORE of a MONSTER😩🙌LOVE IT!!!!!!!🔥soooooooooooooooooo JEALOUS high speed is WHERE IT’S AT 😇🙏🏻💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯that s6 MID GREY bonnet vents🫠🔥✅⭐️
*sees fellow white dude with an FD in Japan* "I see you are a man of culture..."
Damn sucks to see. That quali lap looked sick though
worst part is that was the warm up run so it couldnt get me into the comp where i could have changed the bolt after the qualify session hahah
Keep move forward ✊
Is this the shift assembler that bolted to the stock transmission but essentially acts as a sequential question mark I've seen these before I was always curious if they really work. What is your feedback now?
Yep that's right just a stock 350Z transmission with the sequential pattern shifter. I've done 2 events in the car with it and so far 0 problems with miss shifts or popping out of gear like I have heard about. Only annoying thing about it I would say is that it vibrates and rattles at high rpm.
Hated to see you go out like that on the last(?) 7s day man, but glad the car’s dialed in for D1!
Always great to see an update from you bro! Next year we'll come over for sure!
This is incredible! A sequential RX7! You know how to tune!
Love seeing these cars being driven aggressively! Thing absolutely rips!🎰
How much boost does the car run?
@@mingscustoms 15-16psi
Ah yes, risk of fuel starvation at high RPM. Rotary life. I remember mine well.
5:56 some dudes recording on a nintendo DS
fuck yea !
Waiting for gear position gauge to exit the chat lol
BEST DAY 💯 was a pleasure to chat to you guys and far out you got that car DIALLED 👏🏻💯🔥
Loving the content man, hope your channel blows up soon. Living the dream for most of us: Living in Japan, car you wrench by yourself, going to events with your SO Is the Mush-Style FC the man himself? Or is it the giveaway winner car from ages ago? Got some nice tandems with them in this one 🥳🥳
Thank you, i appreciate that! That is the real deal Mush! He has helped me alot with getting into these events.
@@AndrewDate Hell yeah! Happy for you mate
i was hoping Alexi would do something for 7s day completley forgetting bout my other jap drift guru ! legend man keep postin !
